Express Fitness Club Policies

At Express Fitness, we are committed to providing the best possible experience for all of our members. To maintain a safe, respectful, and efficient environment, we ask that all members and guests familiarize themselves with and adhere to the following policies, which are considered part of your membership agreement.



General Rules

  • Athletic footwear and appropriate attire are required at all times.
  • No food or glass containers are allowed on the courts.
  • Respectful behaviour is always expected, i.e. no profanity, aggression, or excessively loud conduct.
  • Music or speakers must be kept at a low volume or used with headphones.

 

Access to the Club

  • Identification & Security: Upon joining, a photograph will be taken for identification, safety, and security purposes. Failure to comply will prevent you from completing your sign-up process.
  • Key FOB Access: Access to the club is granted via a key FOB. In the event of a lost FOB, a replacement fee of JMD 2,000 will apply.
  • Orientation Requirement: A mandatory orientation session must be completed before receiving your key FOB.
  • Access Key Use: Sharing or using a key FOB that is not registered to you is prohibited and may result in a fine of up to JMD 10,000 and/or termination of membership.
  • Medical Conditions: If you have a medical condition that may pose a risk to your health, please inform our staff.
  • Guest Policy: Guests participating in promotions must sign in at reception and provide photographic identification. Failure to do so may result in denial of access.
  • If you are having trouble accessing the gym, please reach out to our help desk agents for assistance.

 

Membership Fees & Promotions

  • Our Auto-Pay rates are listed under the Membership section of our website. This is the easiest, most convenient and most affordable way to stay on top of your fitness goals.
  • Our Pay-As-You-Go/Advanced Membership Payment (AMP) rates are listed below:

    • Platinum Membership Fees:
      • 4 weeks - $14,800
      • 8 weeks - $26,000
      • 12 weeks - $31,000
      • 24 weeks - $61,500
      • 52 weeks - $98,800
      Core Membership Fees:
      • 4 weeks - $11,000
      • 8 weeks - $20,000
      • 12 weeks - $24,800
      • 24 weeks - $49,500
      • 52 weeks - $80,000
  • From time to time, we advertise specials and promotions on our social media channels and via e-mail newsletters. Terms for taking advantage of these promotions are also published at the same time.

 

Billing for Membership Fees

  • Membership Duration: All memberships, including Pay-As-You-Go and Advance Membership Payments (AMP), are calculated on a weekly basis. For example, a one-month membership equates to four weeks. You can address any specific billing questions you may have with our help desk agents.
  • Auto-pay: Membership fees are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis, with payments processed on the same date as the initial subscription start date.

 

Gym Etiquette

  • Athletic Wear: All members must wear appropriate athletic attire, including tops and bottoms designed for exercise.
  • Shirts Required: A full-length shirt or tank top must be worn at all times. Bare torsos or sports bras worn as outerwear are not considered acceptable (unless in women-only areas, if applicable).
  • Bottoms: Shorts, leggings or sweatpants that cover the buttocks completely are required. Denim or street pants are not permitted.
  • Footwear: Closed-toe, non-marking athletic shoes must be worn at all times. Sandals, flip-flops, boots or bare feet are not considered acceptable (unless in specific studio classes like yoga/Pilates where socks or bare feet are allowed).
  • Cleanliness: All clothing must be clean and free of offensive odours. Clothing should not be overly soiled or excessively torn.
  • Member Etiquette: Members are expected to conduct themselves in a respectful and considerate manner at all times. This includes sharing equipment, adhering to time limits where applicable, re-racking weights after use and speaking to fellow members and staff with courtesy and respect.
  • Behaviour & Equipment Use:
    • Safe and respectful behavior is required to ensure the safety of all members.
    • During peak hours, please limit yourself to using only one weight station at a time.
    • Equipment “hogging” (leaving personal items on equipment while not in use, for example) is prohibited.
    • Weights should be used responsibly and replaced on racks after use. Dropping weights is strictly prohibited.
    • Members must seek assistance if unsure how to use equipment. Express Fitness is not responsible for injuries resulting from incorrect use.
  • Cleanliness & Hygiene:
    • Members are required to wipe down equipment after use with the provided paper towels and sanitizer. Members should refrain from spraying sanitizer directly on to electronic equipment.
    • No Jewellery: Large or dangling jewellery is discouraged to prevent injury or damage to equipment and other members.
    • Hair: Long hair should be tied back to prevent entanglement in equipment.
    • Gloves/Accessories: Lifting gloves, belts, and other gear are permitted but must be used responsibly and stored when not in use.
  • Eating: No food is permitted on the gym floor.

 

Abuse & Harassment Policy

  • Express Fitness has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abuse, harassment, or Inappropriate conduct directed at members, guests, staff or trainers. Zero-tolerance is observed for:
  • Sexual harassment (e.g., unwelcome advances, comments, or gestures)
  • Verbal abuse or threatening behavior
  • Bullying, intimidation, or ridicule
  • Discrimination on the basis of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or any protected class
  • Any form of intimate physical contact, including petting and unwanted touching, is strictly prohibited within gym premises.
  • This policy helps to ensure a safe, respectful and comfortable environment for all members. Violations may result in disciplinary action, including suspension, membership termination or legal consequences.

 

Personal Belongings & Locker Use

  • Valuables: We recommend that you keep valuables with you or store them in a locker with key access. Staff members are not responsible for personal items.
  • Locker Policy: To maximize locker availability, please refrain from leaving items overnight. Unattended items will be removed and stored for a reasonable period.

 

Towels

  • Towel Requirement: Members are required to bring their own towels and use them on equipment to prevent excessive perspiration on the gym equipment.

 

Use of Smartphones & Personal Devices

  • Safety of Personal Devices: If you take a personal device with you to the gym, please ensure that it is always kept secure. We encourage members to keep devices with them rather than leave them unattended on equipment.
  • Photography & Videography: Photography and videography are not permitted in the changing rooms.
  • Respect for Privacy: When using personal technology in the club, please obtain prior consent from anyone who may appear in photographs or videos. If you inadvertently capture someone without consent, please delete the image/footage upon their request.
  • Club Filming: Express Fitness occasionally conducts photography and videography within the club; your membership gives us implied consent to use footage captured of any member.

 

Group Fitness Classes

  • Class Availability & Booking: Class schedules, instructors, and formats may change at any time. We recommend booking in advance to secure a spot in your preferred class. This can be done via our website expressfitnessja.com, which lists all group classes per location, our customer care number (888-FITNESS or (876) 676-6933) OR front desk during staffed hours.
  • Attendance: Members must arrive at least 5 minutes before the scheduled start time of a class; late entry may be denied to avoid disruption of the class. If you cannot attend a booked class, please cancel in advance to allow others on the waiting list to take your place.
  • Waitlist policies apply when classes reach full capacity

 

Court Etiquette

  • Court etiquette is expected when using pickleball or basketball courts, or any other court offered by Express Fitness from time to time.
  • Members are expected to adhere to the start and end time of their booked court session.
  • Singles play is allowed only if no groups are waiting.
  • Members are expected to clean up after themselves at the end of a court session, including disposing all trash properly.
  • The use of courts is at your own risk.

 

Safety and Liability

  • Members are required to report any injuries or unsafe conditions to staff immediately.
  • Express Fitness is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

 

Sauna & Steam Room

  • Pre-Use Hygiene: Please shower before using the sauna or steam room.
  • Appropriate Attire: Towels are required in the sauna and steam room. No other items (oils, books, newspapers, etc.) are allowed.
  • Safety: Read and follow the safety instructions posted in each sauna/steam room.
  • Technology: Electronic devices are not permitted inside the sauna. This includes mobile phones, cameras, and any device capable of taking photos, videos, or recordings.

 

Personalized Training

  • Authorized Trainers Only: Only Express Fitness certified personal trainers (both internal and external) are permitted to conduct training sessions within the club. Members may not bring in external trainers or act as personal trainers themselves.
  • All payments for personalized training must be made either through our website expressfitnessja.com or at the front desk. No trainer is authorized to receive payment.
  • Sessions must be scheduled in advance through the trainer or front desk.
  • Members must arrive on time for sessions; lateness may reduce session time.
  • 24-hour cancellation notice is required to avoid being charged for a missed session.
  • All personalized training services provided within this facility must be conducted transparently and honestly. It is strictly prohibited for any individual to offer or conduct personalized training under false pretences. This includes, but is not limited to:
    • Offering personalized training services while not officially employed or contracted by Express Fitness as a personal trainer.
    • Charging for or soliciting payment for training without appropriate disclosure and approval.

 

Operating Hours & Maintenance

  • Staffed Hours: While the club operates 24 hours, it is staffed from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. Please note these hours if you need assistance from our team.
  • Holiday Hours: Operating hours may be limited on public holidays. Adjusted holiday hours will be communicated in advance via email and posted on our official social media channels.
  • Customer Care Team: Our Customer Care team operates from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, and 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday.

 

Facility Maintenance

  • From time to time, certain areas of the club may be closed for maintenance. We will provide advance notice whenever possible.

 

Age Restrictions & Child Access

  • Minimum Age: Membership is available to individuals aged 16 years or older.
  • Parental Consent: Members aged 16-17 must have a parent or guardian present during the sign-up process. The parent/guardian must sign the membership agreement and a waiver allowing the minor to use the club.
  • Childcare: Express Fitness does not provide childcare services. Children must not be left unattended in the club while a parent or guardian is working out.

 

Membership Freeze Policy

  • Eligibility for Freeze: Memberships with a minimum duration of eight (8) weeks are eligible for freezing due to medical or personal reasons. The maximum freeze period is twelve (12) weeks. Auto-pay members do not qualify for freezes. One month AMP members who can provide a medical certificate will be permitted to freeze their memberships.
  • Freeze Process: To request a freeze, please contact our customer care team at customercare@expressfitnessja.com. If your membership is prepaid, the expiration date will be extended by the duration of the freeze.

 

Membership Cancellation

    Only our Corporate and Auto-pay memberships require cancellation, as payment for both is automatically billed to the method of payment on file. AMPs automatically expire at the end of the membership duration.

 

Corporate Memberships

  • Enrolment & Cancellations: To begin or end a corporate membership, the company’s HR representative must contact our sales department at sales@expressfitnessja.com.
  • Corporate Membership Modifications: Employees wishing to join or cancel corporate memberships must communicate directly with the HR department of their company.

 

Auto-pay & Cancellation

  • Auto-pay Enrolment: You can sign up for auto-pay via our website at expressfitnessja.com. For assistance with the sign up process, please contact customer care at 888-FITNESS or (876) 676-6933.
  • Cancellation of Auto-pay: Membership cancellations must be submitted in writing to customercare@expressfitnessja.com at least 48 hours before the next billing cycle.

 

Policy Violation

  • Violation of these policies may result in a warning, suspension or revocation of access privileges or membership.
  • Repeated or serious offenses may lead to termination of membership.
